Samick Malibu (yellow) Reviews 
1 / 5 based on 1 reviewsI got this guitar a year ago at Braswell Music for my first guitar. I didn't know much about guitars back then, so I picked it because I liked the color. I paid about $100 for it.
I like the vibrant yellow and the Grover tuners. Also the neck it alright (if it stays close to the body). The whammy bar is cool too.
Where do I begin?! Ok, like after like a month, the bolt-on neck had this HUGE gap between the body and neck (remeber: I was a beginner. I didnt go slamming my new Samick into a wall or anything.).....as you can guess, the strings were all screwed up. Near the first fret all the way to the 13th, the strings were really close to the fingerboard and from the 14th to the 21st, the strings were like an inch and a half from the fingerboard! It totally sucked!! Also, the dot inlays are on the near the top of the fretboard! It looks horrable. The pickups suck and the volume knob is way too abrupt when doing those closing to certain songs. The pickgaurd is ugly. (why couldn't they use a pearloid one like Fender??) Ok, that out of the way, I tried giving Samick another chance by putting in a Seymour Duncan Hot Rails pickup in the bridge and that didn't change anything. DONT BUY THE SEYMOUR DUNCAN HOT RAILS....IT SUKCS!!!!!!!! It was the worst $70 I ever spent! Sorry about going off on a tangent. The headstock is a knock-off of a PRS only w/ a bulge in the middle of the swoop (check out http://www.samickguitar.com/electric.html )
Use that exact link. All the Samick guitars are knock-offs of other guitars..ex: Malibu- Strat, Formula-Tele, Avion-Les Paul, Fastback-Peavey EVH Wolfgang....you get the idea)
Horrable. The pickups suck, the neck comes apart (on mine at least), The volume knob is way too abrupt. Just look under the "Dislikes" column...it's all there
DONT BUY THIS TRASH!! ITS A WASTE OF $100! I COULDVE GOTTEN A SQUIRE (THOSE ARE HORRIBLE I KNOW BUT THERE LIKE A GIBSON OR PRS COMPAIRED TO THIS S***.)
ITS A HORRIBLE BEGINNER GUIAR...WAIT, ITS A HORRIBLE GUITAR ALL TOGETHER!!!!!!!!
IF I COULD RATE THIS BESIDES 1-5, ID RATE IT NEGATIVE 10 GAZILLION
